I bought this lovely kiddie pool for the K-9 kiddos, and while Banjo wanted nothing to do with it, Millie surprised me with her enthusiasm. She started off timid, but once she saw her Daddy get in with a tennis ball, she could no longer resist. So much for breed stereotypes!

Millie the Water Dog
Summer! What better way to spend the day than cooling off at the pool?!

Through My Dog's Eyes
So in Sammy's memory, I ask that we all consider too just how much our dogs love us, and how much they give unconditionally to us. And then let that serve as a daily reminder of how we too should see the world. Through our dogs' eyes.

Wordless Wednesday: The Patient Older Brother
Poor Banjo. You'd think being the older dog, he might have some authority over Millie. You would be wrong. She totally does what she wants around him, which usually means pushing him out of his own food bowl while he eats. But this morning, she chose to at least let him finish and move on to a sip of water before she forced her way in, or shall I say, UNDER him to reach the bowl for clean-up duty.I tend to think it's because Millie has an alpha personality, while he is just so passive, but in reality, I think he is just such a wise, tolerant little man. My sweet, patient, gentle Banjo.

Grab Your Tissues...
This is by far one of the sweetest, most heartwarming ads I've seen on TV. Ever. What a beautiful tribute to man's best friend.

Wordless Wednesday: These are a few of my favorite things.
I've begun to notice a frightening pattern in my photos. If you were
to follow my Facebook feed, you would see that my photos and posts
consist of dogs, beer, and running-related content. Hmmm... This photo
captures all 3 of my favorite things.- Beer? Check!
- Dog? Check!
- Running? (you can't see it, but this is the shirt I'm wearing, runner girl tee) Check!

The Wild Child Turns 21 (or, 3)
They grow up so fast. The little one is already 3 years old. It feels like this was just yesterday. (Can you believe that also means this blog will be turning 3 in the not too distant future? Hmm. Two of my babies growing up). To celebrate (on Memorial Day, no less!), the little princess got her very own party hat and a Three Dog Bakery pupcake that she devoured before setting her sights on Daddy's beer. Hey, she's old enough now, right?!
Happy Birthday my little Mildred!
