Thank you so much to all of the good thoughts for Millie! She is feeling as good as I can imagine you would feel after having had surgery. And on the upside, Millie got to spend her first night in the bed with us last night. That’s right, Millie doesn’t sleep in the bed. I know that seems hard to believe, seeing as she is such a sweet, snuggly, real-life teddy bear. She normally sleeps in her crate, which she loves, but last night, she got a taste of the bed, and now I have a feeling there is no going back. I think she liked sleeping on the bed, but unfortunately, Mama got zero sleep. Why? Because I had 9.7 pounds of fur sleeping directly on my neck, with a cone smushed into my face. When she finally seemed comfortable (which turned out to be in that position), I didn’t have the heart to move her.

Poor Millie gets the cone of shame. |

To add insult to injury, Millie has to wear a plastic
bag to go out in the rain to protect the stitches. |
Glad Millie got through the surgery okay. We had to bed JF after his neuter surgery. He actually couldn't wait to sleep in his crate again. :( I thought the bag was a diaper and I'm sorry, Millie, but I laughed out loud. Hope she heals quickly! (btw, Dewi goes in for a cryptorchid neuter next week, not fun)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Millie is home and safe. You know what they say, "It's all fun and games until someone has to wear the cone."
ReplyDeleteAw, poor pup... I'm glad she is home safe and sound and hope she feels better very soon!
ReplyDeleteMillie so glad you are home and doing better... it no fun with that cone.. but you will feel better soon... Dolce
ReplyDeleteOh Millie! I just found out about you being sick today. My human's been so slow to catch up on things. I'm so sorry. I hope you feel better soon. If I were you, I'd definitely demand to be on the bed from now on. What is a crate anyway? It sounds scary.
ReplyDeleteAs for the cone of shame, I don't know why they call it that. It's a very good thing and will help you get better soon. It helped me too when I got stiches after being bitten.
And finally, the diaper. Hmmm... I think that one has given My Typist thoughts about trying one on Mr Thumper, if she can find a big enough bag for his fat bum.
Alright, I'd better stop rabbiting on and let you get some more rest. Take care and a BIG hug, your friend Georgia xox
I'm happy to hear the surgery went smoothly. Millie, it's a testament to the power of your cuteness that you manage to make a cone and plastic bag combo look adorable. That said, I hope you get rid of both very quickly!

Aw, poor Millie. Don't worry... soon this wlll all just be an annoying memory.
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much for your kind words to Millie! She got her stitches out yesterday, and is feeling so much better that we are having to keep her calm and contained in order to prevent her from further injuring herself. She is acting like her normal, healthy self, and I couldn't be any happier to see her feeling so good again! I know that it was all your kind words that helped her recover so quickly! (And now, since she has been sleeping on the bed every night, there's probably no going back to the crate, so she scored on that end!)
